Chalet Bungalow Renovation
Extension, Full Renovation & Loft Conversion in Drayton
We were contacted by a young family to help them design and renovate a large dated chalet style bungalow they had recently purchased which was in desperate need of modernising and dragging in to the 21st century!
The main brief was to extend the existing kitchen area and add an additional 2 large bedrooms with en-suites to the 1st floor, the rest of the property would then need remodelling in most areas on the ground floor, the front entrance was to be moved, porch built and a complete re-roof to the remaining existing areas and the existing pitched roof dormer windows.
It was hinted at the design phase that if we could somehow include a balcony area to the master bedroom that would be great so we came up with the idea to extend the new very large roof over the top of the existing unconverted roof area and over the top of the new extended kitchen area to create a major focal point at the rear of the property of which you can see from the photo gallery has ended giving a major wow factor!
The combination of the cedar cladding against the white render, natural high grade Spanish roof slates and Anthracite Grey windows with Georgian bars has created a new contemporary feel to the property but still keeps some of the old detail from the existing building that was requested to make sure it was still in keeping with the area and neighbouring property.
